It is counted among the finest vines in Italy and has its roots in ancient times that date back to Ancient Greece. Grape variety characterized by a slow vegetative cycle, which ends towards the end of October, it is grown mainly in Basilicata and Campania . It prefers ventilated places , such as hilly terrain , characterized by not too harsh winters and cool summers. In the presence of unfavorable climatic conditions, the high presence of tannin still favors the protection of the fruit.
